  • Indigenous to the meadows of the Rocky Mountains, this Trollius species does not have yellow blooms, but displays flowers of pure white to cream tones. It has striking large, cup-shaped solitary flowers with dark stamen in the beginning. Trollius laxus flowers from May until June, reaching a height of 40 cm and prefers a moist and humus location in a shade to partly sunny site.

  • This plant has one of the most outstanding shapes among the Bell-Gentians. There are pure white bell flowers with yellow, apricot and amethyst. For the most part they are white and marked on the outside with violet-pink calyx stripes.

    To propagate this rare species reliable from seed many years of selection were necessary. Anyone who things Gentian has to be blue will be truly inspired by the chance to experience this type. Gentiana clusii f. alboviolacea prefers a humus-rich and acid soil in a sunny site. It flowers from May until June, it frequently blooms a second time in fall.

    Indigenous to Korea, Angelica gigas was disseminated for the first time in America in the 80's. The exotic appearing Umbelliferae reaches a height of up to 80 - 140 cm according to the soil conditions and has shiny green ground leaves which are divided several arial,helvetica. The umbels are arranged in a zig-zag formation and have a waxy appearence. Their fascinating crimson color lasts from the end of June until the beginning of September. This color provides an enrichment for every border and is especially impressive with woody plants.

    Its unusual appearence creates special interest as a cut flower. Angelica gigas grows in average garden soil and can be easily propagated by seeds. The seedlings develop quickly into vigourous plants and mostly flower already in the following year. Angelica gigas was awarded a gold medal at the plant fair "Plantarium 93" in the Netherlands.


  • It is difficult to survey the increasing diversity in shape and color, so that the simple blooming Paeonia species gain more importance. The big brilliant ruby colored flowers with their dark yellow stamen of Paeonia officinalis ssp. banatica are a welcome sight from the end of May until the beginning of June.

    This variety proves to be suitable for any garden soil. The cultivation time from sowing out to the blooming plant takes about four years, but proves to be more productive than the ordinary vegetative propagation.


  • Closely related to Helianthemum, Fumana is a shrubby cushion perennial with a loose and creeping habit. The leaves are fine and needle-shaped. The entire plant does not exceed a height of 20 cm and is covered with yellow flowers from June until August. Flowers appear mainly during the morning hours.

  • This plant was especially bred for compact and constant growth and distinguishes itself with an abundant florescence and large flowers. This cushion perennial is stoloniferous and reaches a height up to 15 cm. Outdoors the numerous dark blue or pure white flowers appear from May until August.

    Campanula 'Bavaria Blue' is very suitable for the pot-cultivation in the greenhouse all year round and flowers already 14 weeks after sowing. To extend the main selling season it is possible to influence the flowering period by using different temperature and light conditions. In contrast to the ordinary species, Campanula 'Bavaria Blue' doesn't fade but retains the dark blue color in the greenhouse.

  • This Umbelliferae is not only remarkable in the rock garden, but also as a border perennial and a cut flower. The plant reaches a height of up to 60 cm and displays frosted grey blue, feathery ground and stem leaves. The huge white umbel is surrounded by numerous small umbels of the lateral shoots. Seseli perfers a sunny location in a rich and porous soil.
