Origin: North America from Alaska to Colorado, Korea, the Himalayas to Japan: alpine grassland and bogs.
Special Features: GENTIANA algida tolerate sunny locations and humidity, but needs a well-drained soil. Very rare in cultivation! Challenging the culture procedure.
Historical: Classification was diskussed. Syn. are GENTIANODES algida and GENTIANA romanzovii.
